The CTV Teens Young Lenses program works to create short-term, intensive media literacy workshops for young people ages 11-14. Through active and collaborative deconstruction of mainstream media, coupled with the creation of their own issue-inspired media, students explore issues of popular representation, stereotypes, identity and empowerment.

Mobile Production Club

Mondays - 6 weeks | 10am-1pm | July 2 - August 6

Explore the North Suburbs through the camera lens and create location-specific videos across CTV's nine-city area. Earn DSLR certification.

Documentary Workshop

Documentary Workshop

Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays – 2 weeks | 1:00pm - 5:00 pm | June 26 – 28 + July 10 – 12

Tell a story about something real. You'll work through the creative process of creating a documentary to tell a story that would otherwise go unheard—something only your team can make.

Animation @ the Station

Animation @ the Station

Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays – 2 weeks | 1:00pm - 5:00 pm | July 24 – August 2

Learn the basics of analogue and digital animation. You’ll use techniques including cel (hand-drawn) animation and stop-motion using Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Animate.

Teen Studio Class

Teen Studio Class

Week One: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday | 1:00pm - 5:00 pm | August 7 – 9
Week Two: Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday | 1:00pm - 5:00 pm | August 13 – 15

Make a TV show in a professional studio—you’ll learn all basic crew positions in this class, including camera operator, audio, teleprompter, switcher, video playback, and graphics. Earn studio certification.

Upon Request

Hands-on training with the Panasonic HMC 150 production camcorder plus microphones. Students will be certified to check out portable equipment to use for their field productions. Please call or email to schedule a session!

  

 

Upon Request

Learn the non-linear workflow through hands-on training and step-by-step instruction. Students are taken through each vital step of the editing process, from concept to final product. Some of the topics of the class include navigating the editing interface, capturing video, sequencing clips, adding titles and effects, and exporting your project. Please call or email to schedule a session!
